Frequently Asked Questions

What is a zine?
A zine (short for fanzine) is an unofficial collection of art and written pieces, compiled into book form and often accompanied with physical merchandise.
What is the theme for this zine?
This zine is fully focused on Levi Ackerman - his life, his character, his fight for freedom - in canon or AU settings. Although the darker themes which are characteristic of Attack on Titan may certainly be present, the focus of this project is on Levi: the beauty of his character, his strength and skill, his grief and love, his friends and family, his resolve and determination, his relationships and interactions with others, and more.
What are the specifications for this zine?
- for-charity (Love Without Boundaries)
- physical and digital
- SFW, PG-13, canon-typical violence/gore/language (keep in mind that darker themes which characterize Attack on Titan may be present)
- A5 perfect-bound zine
- page artists, merch artists, writers
Will this zine be for-profit?
No, all proceeds from project earnings will go towards charity.
How will contributors be compensated for their participation?
We hope to generate enough revenue from sales to fund full physical bundles for all contributors. This would include the physical zine, bundle merchandise, stretch goals (if applicable), and shipping to the contributor. All remaining funds would be donated to charity. In the event that funds are not sufficient to do so, all contributors will receive the digital zine and options to obtain physical goods at production cost.
Will other characters and ships be featured?
The primary focus of this project is Levi, so all pieces will feature him. Other characters may be included, as long as they are not the focal point of the piece. Platonic interactions are more than welcome. Explicit romantic pairings will not be featured in this zine.
What are the application requirements?
Anyone aged 18 and over by the time applications close on November 15 is allowed to participate. Further application requirements and guidelines can be found here.
Can I apply for more than one position?
Yes, you may apply to as many positions as you like, but you will only be accepted for one.
